Children's Karate · Tots Program

Today’s world is a tough place to raise a confident, respectful child. There are many influences outside the family unit vying for their attention that parents can use a partner to help reinforce their positive messages. Our goal is to use martial arts to help develop self-esteem, confidence, and respect for self and others in an environment where they feel safe and comfortable to grow.

Children's Karate

Our children’s program is developed for children from the age of 6 years old and is designed to help build mental focus, physical strength, balance, and coordination. We foster an environment focused on positive reinforcement to motivate improvement while at the same time gradually increasing the expected level of discipline as the student gains a better understanding of our expectations. The goal of this philosophy is to prevent the initial intimidation many people feel in the “boot camp” types of schools.

As our children progress through the program from Beginner to Intermediate and Advanced, they learn traditional Korean karate and practical self-defense. Even more importantly, however, is that they learn how to best utilize their best self-defense weapon-their minds. Our students begin with very basic techniques and self-defense techniques designed to aid them in avoiding altercations or, if necessary, to free them from an aggressor. As they continue, the techniques become more sophisticated; they learn tools to help them assess the situation; and they gain confidence in controlling a hostile situation by using verbal and physical techniques. Their goal is still to avoid conflict whenever feasible.

Tots Program

Our Tots Program is designed to help children as young as 3 or 4 develop critical life skills such as focus, balance and hand-eye coordination. Tots will exercise and have fun while building awareness of their environment and bolstering their self-confidence through lessons in traditional Korean karate. Graduates of the Tots Program will have a firm foundation on which to build as they advance to the Children's program.
